Synergy™ strand bamboo solid-strip flooring is manufactured under a patented process that fuses bamboo fibers with an environmentally safe adhesive under extreme pressure to form homogenous, high-density blocks that are sliced and milled into flooring planks. As a result, Synergy™ is 100 percent harder than red oak and 18 percent harder than Santos mahogany, making it perfect for high-traffic areas in both residential and commercial settings. Synergy™ strand bamboo flooring is available in four distinctive blends of bamboo strands—Wheat (natural), Chestnut (caramelized), Java (light and dark caramelized strands) and new Brindle, a beautiful blend of natural and caramelized strands.The 7-coat German finish includes a wear layer of abrasion-resistant aluminum oxide plus two scratch-resistant, polyurethane topcoats that protect the bamboo fiber's natural strength and beauty. Its finish is water-based and solvent-free, and its adhesives emit substantially less formaldehyde than is present in ambient air.
